I find this very fascinating. I think it is an amazing way to honor your family.

Hello and welcome to the board.
Colorado has a very active Heathen community, especially around Denver.

I completely agree. I also believe that 'if you don't use it, you lose it'. To stay in tune with the energetic properties of the Runes, you have to foster that connection.

For the most part, I agree with your post. The exception being the part where you say 'completed my work as a Father.' That work can never truly be completed. It's ongoing.
However, I understand what you're saying and that it's simply the phrasing I don't agree with.

Nope. Just beyond bored with it. You are not the first person to pop in here with delusions of grandeur and certainly not the first person to attempt to vigourously defend those claims by crying foul when challenged, to point and yell 'bully'.
So it does become tiresome, the same old song and dance, wanting to not only feel special but insisting others also acknowledge your elevated level of Heathenry, gracing us with your presence here and expecting instant regard.

I'm done with this.

It was just laughable. Much like your claim of being all chummy with Odin.

Save face among my Kindred Folk? Too funny...

Respect is earned. Coming here to tell us of your special relationship with Odin is hardly the way to do that.

You are not 'at the gate', as you put it. You are an anonymous poster on the nebous internet with an outlandish claim. Expecting automatic respect for that is optimistic to say the least.

My respect is reserved for those who demonstrate their worth by their deeds, not by boasts of their special relationships with the Gods.

If you are so sensitive that you get offended by that, that's not my problem.

I am well aware of our rules of conduct. They are not to be read to mean claims go unchallenged or questioned and I'm sorry you feel like you should be able to make them with no critical responses.
Oh well...

In the interest of keeping this conversation, that started almost a year ago, from spiraling any further downward...for neither one us is going to change the others' mind...I am withdrawing from it but let me say to you that it was never my intention to insult or offend you and if I have done either, please accept my apology.

No, that is not exactly what I did. You did far more than claim to have had contact with a God. If that had been all you said, I would not have considered it delusional.

When I say "on the unpleasant side", I mean Odin is a rough teacher... I've met some folk that describe Odin as a kindly grandfather, I suppose He can be, but I've never experienced that... I once called Odin in a ceremony, as He was to be a witness to it, I continued and finished the rite, but I felt as though Odin was riding along with me and my mind was grinding in overdrive, I saw through His Eye the truth of people I had never met before, yet when I spoke later with folk that knew them said I was spot on in who and what they were about... I'm more of an easy going type and with Odin I've always felt that uncomfortable, or unpleasant, overdrive sensation...

What you described there is an ongoing relationship with the AllFather and THAT, to me, seems delusional.

So a few weeks ago I went for a check up and my A1C number was 5.6 which, I was told, was awesome. So that was good news. The bad news was that, in the course of being subjected to a battery of blood tests, it was found that I also have hepatitis C. So somewhere along the line, a jailhouse tattoo or a dirty needle from my junkie days cost more than I imagined. However, great strides have been made recently in treatment of this and I have an appointment with a specialist in the near future. I hope to begin one of the new medicines that eradicate the disease in 12 weeks.

The upshot of all this is that now, at 50 years old, life is putting me in a position to take care of myself like I probably should have been all along. I now have a Primary Care Physician, for the first time ever. I have health insurance, for the first time ever. All the doctors i am seeing are all at KU Med so all my records, appointments, etc. are all centralized and coordinated, which is a huge help to me as far as keeping track of it all and communication between all the different departments and, if all that wasn't enough, I get to have my first colonoscopy soon. WHEE!!!!! Doesn't get much better than that now, does it. LOL. Pics to follow...just kidding. Maybe.
